Privacy policy

Effective October 3, 2026

MyMedia Photos is a local-first Mac photo utility provided by uuBright. Your library is indexed and analyzed on your Mac. Connecting an external service is optional.

Local photos and analysis

When you add a folder, the app reads supported photos and creates a local index. Depending on the features you use, this includes file paths, file sizes and dates, content hashes, capture dates, camera details, GPS coordinates, recognized text, content labels, face thumbnails and embeddings, and names or labels you assign. Photo previews, editing renditions, settings, and operation history are also stored locally.

Local indexing, OCR, classification, face analysis, and editing run on your Mac. These functions do not send your library to uuBright. Face embeddings and associated labels remain local. The app indexes files in place; edits save separate copies. Organizing files or moving them to Trash requires your action.

Google Drive access

If you connect Google Drive, Google handles sign-in and asks you to grant the drive.readonly permission. This permits the app to see and download all files in your Drive. Folder selection limits what MyMedia processes, not the account-wide scope of Google's permission.

The integration requests file and folder metadata to display your Drive, including names, identifiers, file types, sizes, modification times, and available checksums or revisions. It downloads the original file you explicitly select to a local destination you choose. The app may display account information returned by Google. It does not modify, delete, or upload files in Drive.

Drive API requests go directly between your Mac and Google. uuBright does not receive your Google credentials, Drive file contents, or Drive listing through an application server. If you add the download folder as a local photo source, photos in that folder are indexed and analyzed as described above.

Access tokens are used by the app's main process. Persistent refresh credentials are encrypted locally using Electron's operating-system-backed secure storage. They are not exposed to the photo page in the renderer.

MyMedia's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used to provide the user-facing photo features described here, not for advertising, sale, or training generalized AI or machine-learning models.

Optional services and sharing

These features send data outside your Mac only when you choose to use them:

Photos downloaded from Drive become local files. Choosing an optional sharing or backup feature for those files can send them to the selected service. The Drive connection itself does not initiate those uploads. Review the destination and its data policy before using an external service.

Optional model downloads

When you click a model download button, the app requests a small URL manifest from uubright.com, then downloads the chosen model from GitHub Releases or its upstream Hugging Face host. Those providers receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address. These requests do not send your photos, face embeddings, Google credentials, or Drive listing. Downloads require no model-host account, are checked against a SHA-256 checksum pinned in the app, and are stored locally on your Mac. Source attribution, licenses, and checksums accompany our model mirror release.

Retention, disconnect, and deletion

Originals and downloaded copies remain in your selected folders until you remove them. Local indexes, cached previews, face data, settings, and operation history persist in the app's local data directory until cleared through available app controls or removed from your Mac. Removing a library source is not a promise to erase every cached or indexed record.

Disconnecting Google Drive cancels active Drive operations and removes locally stored sign-in credentials. It does not delete downloaded copies or their local analysis. To revoke the Google-side grant, remove MyMedia Photos from your Google Account connections. Google retains its own service records according to its policies.

Because uuBright does not hold your local photo library on its servers, we cannot remotely erase it. Contact us for help locating and clearing app data on your Mac. If you use an external generation, backup, or agent service, manage retention and deletion with that provider as well.

Website and support

This product website uses Cloudflare Pages. We have not added analytics scripts, advertising trackers, signup forms, or third-party font requests to these product pages. Cloudflare may process connection information such as IP addresses and request logs to operate the hosting service under its privacy statement.

If you email support, we receive your email address and the message or attachments you send. We use them to respond and investigate the issue. Avoid sending personal photos, tokens, or credentials unless they are necessary and you choose to share them. Support correspondence may be retained for follow-up; you can request deletion.

Security and policy changes

Credentials are protected with local secure storage, and Google requests use HTTPS. Access to your Mac, backups, or an agent you authorize can affect the privacy of local data. No storage or transmission system can guarantee absolute security.

We will update this policy when the app's data handling changes and revise the effective date. Material changes to permissions or external processing will be explained before you use the affected feature.
